Filtering Cheap Vodka
8 June 2005
Looks like I’ve found my next project. After reading about filtering cheap vodka over at Oh My God It Burns!, I’ve decided to try my hand at making some flavored vodka. My plan is to buy a large bottle of reasonably cheap vodka, filter it a few times, then divide it into 3 or 4 smaller bottles to marinate with various ingredients.
I’ll definitely be making some of Dale DeGroff’s apple, pear, cinnamon and clove vodka - used in the Apple Martini I posted about recently. I’m also considering chili vodka, using a selection of fresh chilies, and possibly even a chocolate vodka using real chocolate - something along the lines of Simon Phipps’ Chocolate Martini, but much less thick.
